Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids
(908) 665-4222
The Perks:
This is a totally fun and “painless” way to get your child a haircut. Your toddler can choose to sit in a rocket ship, Barbie Jeep, or Harley motorcycle and watch a DVD such as Thomas the Tank Engine or Elmo. In short, they do a fairly good job of tricking your little wiggler into staying still long enough to get the job done! Older kids can sit in regular seats and pick a movie on the big screen TV or even play a video game while getting their cut.
We took our son at 1 year for his first haircut and opted
for the “First Haircut Package.” For $25
this trim included a photo, certificate, and the ever important lock of hair. (Can
you tell he’s our first??)
Sharkey’s also has an adorable girly party room for glamour birthday parties. The girls are treated to make-up, hairstyles, “minicures,” and karaoke. It’s almost cute enough to make me want to try for a girl!
You can even come here without the kids! Sharkey’s will host a “Ladies Night Out” which includes wine, food, and karaoke. I haven’t tried this yet, but it sounds interesting…
The Poops:
There are plenty of treats and toys for sale and they are easy to reach and see!
You may not be able to leave here empty handed.
At $20 (plus tip) for a boy’s haircut, it’s more than what my husband pays to get his hair cut. (But I don’t know if I would trust a regular barber with my baby!).
