Rustin, an influential African-American Quaker, orchestrated the historic 1963 March on Washington. He is credited with persuading Martin Luther King and his advisors to make Gandhian nonviolence a key part of the civil rights movement.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington. Come learn about Bayard Rustin's legacy, his struggle to live openly and productively as a gay man, and his continuing relevance to civil and human rights today.
