Arts Guild New Jersey is pleased to present its first COMMUNITY: Members/Faculty/Student Art Show, featuring the artwork of Arts Guild New Jersey’s current artist members, and its talented instructors and students. The exhibition, which opens on June 10 and runs through June 30, 2012, aims to bring together and show appreciation for the many diverse people who are involved with the Arts Guild and who make its programs possible.  A free, public reception will be held on Sunday, June 10, 1-4 PM, at Arts Guild New Jersey, 1670 Irving Street, Rahway, NJ 07065. Gallery hours are Saturdays and Sundays, 1:00-4:00 PM. The exhibition is wheelchair accessible.

It is the mission of Arts Guild New Jersey to present high level arts programs for the benefit of residents in Central and Northern New Jersey.  Since 1999, the Guild has provided an increasing range of art events, activities and programs for a multi-county audience, promoting the benefit of the arts for all people. This would not be possible without the participation of the Guild’s valued members, faculty, and students. This showcase of their artwork is a token of appreciation and a celebration of all that Arts Guild New Jersey has become.

Member support is an important source of revenue for the Arts Guild, helping to provide the funding it needs to operate. In addition to helping to sustain an admirable organization, benefits to becoming a member include an opportunity to exhibit in the Members/Faculty/Student Show, and discounts on classes for kids and adults. Members also receive incentives such as advance notice and reduced rates on special event tickets, discounted entry fees for juried shows, and a website listing in the Artist Members Gallery on the Links page of the Arts Guild’s website: www.agnj.org.

The Guild’s instructors are all noteworthy artists with impressive backgrounds and extensive teaching experience. Some teachers work for universities and colleges such as the prestigious Mason Gross School of the Arts and Kean University, or for other non-profit art centers.

Many of AGNJ’s students have been loyally enrolled in classes year after year; others included in the exhibition are fresh additions to the community. Arts Guild New Jersey offers important core classes such as drawing and painting in various mediums, and continues to expand its offerings to include innovative new choices, such as Color Theory. Both daytime and evening classes are offered to make the program convenient for any schedule. A newly renovated annex location on West Milton Avenue is now also being utilized, allowing the Arts Guild to offer an even wider selection of classes. Whether students are challenging themselves by taking their skills to the next level, or trying a new technique for the first time, there is something for everyone at Arts Guild New Jersey. For more information about the classes at Arts Guild New Jersey, visit the Arts Classes page on www.agnj.org.
