Do you know what to do when a button falls off of your favorite shirt? Have you always wanted to learn to sew, but think that it might get too tedious? Have you ever wanted a cute cover for your phone, but can’t seem to find the perfect one? Scotch Plains Public Library is hosting a two-part program just for teens. “CREATE-it with Christina” is excited to present Sewing 101: Felt Phone Covers.
Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to the Scotch Plains Public Library on Tuesday February 26th & Tuesday March 12th from 3:30-4:30pm to learn basic sewing techniques with this trendy, functional project.
“CREATE-it with Christina” is a monthly crafting program given by Christina Vines, SPPL’s newest Library Assistant, who specializes in Teen Programming and Graphic Arts. CREATE-it has been offered at Scotch Plains Public Library since this past November. Christina is eager to host library programming that offers something new for teens to explore, even when the latest technologies provide them instant access to all of the information they think they’ll ever need. This crafting event is just one of many exciting new programs the library is now offering to teens in the community.
This program is free and open to all interested participants in grades 6-12. Attendees are encouraged to register through the library’s website: http://www.scotlib.org or by phone: 908-322-5007 x.204, or e-mail email@example.com .
The Scotch Plains Library is located at 1927 Bartle Avenue, one block from Park Avenue in the center of town.
