The Alternative Press

I’m very pleased to welcome The Alternative Press to Scotch Plains.  I have always felt that the best kind of resident is an informed one, so the possibility of having another media outlet that is able to provide immediate information to the public can only help to make residents aware of what is going on.

I look forward to contributing each month and I appreciate the availability being offered by the open platform of The Alternative Press to residents and organization.  Residents can both post content and keep up to date with events and important dates of things happening in the community.

In today’s world of anonymous blogs and commentary, it is refreshing to see a site that will provide complete information and not allow the distraction of unattributed comments.

In the spirit of open government and transparency, I hope to utilize the site to ensure that residents are provided with as many details as possible on governmental issues of concern to them.

For a publication of this type to be a success, community participation is needed. I strongly encourage our residents to sign up as readers and contributors to The Alternative Press.com.
