Dealing with Disasters

So Long Sandy

We hoped we'd never have to imagine a storm worse than Hurricane Irene in 2011. We hoped we'd never have to face down destruction likes what Superstorm Sandy brought to the Garden State. Unfortunately, nature doesn't always cooperate.

A month after New Jersey battened down the hatches in face of "Frankenstorm," we are all still working together to deal with the destruction.

For a Restoration and Mitagation Service like PuroClean, the aftermath of Sandy has been some of the most heart-breaking and rewarding experiences we've had to face.

Sandy left millions without power for weeks on end, but it hit the Jersey Shore drastically, washing away whole homes and flooding what remained. Since the storm, we have been working with residents to mitigate the standing water, mold, and toxins that has been left behind.

We have spent our days knee-deep in the murk and mud only a winter storm can leave in its wake. Our team has spent the weeks in Tyvek, crammed in crawl spaces mitigating mold and shedding pounds of sweat. Nevertheless, despite the heat and the mud, we are grateful we have had the opportunity to help within the communities that have embraced us and our families.

In light of the destruction of Sandy, we are more pleased than ever that PuroClean is the only disaster restoration contractor to affiliate itself with the Red Cross. Even now that national news stations have stopped covering the Sandy damage, please continue to support the Red Cross as it continues to assist those people still displaced from this disaster.

Together, once again, we will show the world what it means to be Jersey Strong.

After more than twenty-five years in the construction industry, Chris and Robin Hoy have learned the importance of quality mitigation in disaster relief. Now as franchise owners for PuroClean Restoration Services, they take pride in responding quickly and efficiently to the damage caused by fire, water, mold and biohazards, filling restoration and mitigation needs within the community.  Click here to visit our website.
