YMCA Arts Week and Harvest Ball

SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA is rallying the community in the name of art. From October 3rd thru the 9th the Y will showcase the unique and diverse talents of artists through various forms of expression. October is National Arts and Humanities Month, being held at Ys nationwide.
Some of the activities include exhibits by featured artists in the lobby of the Y, members will play guitars on Wednesday and Thursday, and there will be a drawing class, taught by Danniell Hale, at 12:00 on Wednesday.
On October 6th the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA Fine Arts Program will host a Harvest Ball. The festivities begin at 7:30 and will include refreshments from local chefs, art work from the High School, presentations from the New Jersey Youth Theatre, and a dance lesson by the Arthur Murray Dance Studio. The cost is $25.00, you can pre-register at the YMCA.
“Arts Week is about celebrating the influence of art and culture on youth and adults alike,” said Sheri Cognetti, Senior Program Director. “Its important to showcase artists’ work and to bring everyone together to experience and understand the pleasure and impact of the arts.”
