Praise For a Community Activist

Speaking as a life-long resident, ordained minister, community leader & elected official in Paterson, I feel that it is appropriate for me to give special recommendations to a lady who has proven that wonderful things can happen when you take the power of a vision and combine it with action. The lady I speak of is, Mrs. Lydia Robles. The vision I speak of is, The cleaning of the Passaic River. I must say that I am highly impressed with the success Mrs. Robles has had thus far with this project, and I anticipate even greater success in the very near future because of her efforts.
She has enlisted the help of various community-based organizations and groups to assist in the campaign of cleaning the river. This is something that must continue to be documented by as many people as possible. History is being made right before our very eyes. I want to encourage more churches, mosques, temples and all religious institutions to get involved in this community cleanup. This is a city-wide effort and all of the residents need to be out there helping with this amazing effort.
I'm truly inspired by the amount of cleaning that has taken place. I'm even more encouraged when I see all of those youth from our city out there helping to make a positive difference in this city. They must be commended for their efforts. This is truly news worthy information. There should be someone out there each time they meet to clean a part of the city, if for no other reason but to document their efforts. For too long, we as a city have focused on the negative events that occur. Now, there is a major positive movement taking place, but with very little coverage? Something is wrong.
I pray for continued strength and blessings to cover every volunteer worker, and the organizers as this mission continues to go forward. I know that each of you will be blessed for your efforts. To the residents that have yet to join, I encourage you to link up with Mrs. Robles and tell her you would like to be a part of the movement. I am certain that she will be more that happy to have you assist her and the rest of the team. Again, I am proud to see all of the youth getting involved in this effort and I trust that more youth will come forth, ready and willing to assist in helping to save this city.
