Madison Businesses: It's a Privilege to Serve the Madison Community
Wednesday, December 5, 2012 • 7:48am
Writing on behalf of the 165 member businesses and organizations of the Madison Chamber of Commerce, we would like to say that we are enormously appreciative of the business and support that we enjoy from our customers who live, dine, bank and shop in Madison, New Jersey.
Every day, each of us as Chamber members, recognizes that we are blessed to be part of the Madison community. And every day we are eager to serve you, your family, friends and colleagues. None of us takes your business or needs for granted and we are eager to earn your trust and your business.
We know that our customers have a tremendous variety of options as to where they spend their money. We also know that our livelihoods depend on our ability to offer customers the best in terms of products and services and we are eager for the opportunity. We know that owning and running a business in Madison is a privilege, and we respect that knowledge in our daily thoughts and actions.
Recently, a non-Chamber Madison business stated that the people of Madison should feel obligated to shop Madison. Each member of the Chamber knows that this is a false notion. We believe that consumers should shop our businesses because we offer wonderful merchandise, exceptional service and outstanding value at reasonable prices in a beautiful, caring, easy to access, hometown setting.
Since its founding in 1943, the Chamber and its members have worked to produce substantial, community-based activities and programs and to uphold strong and fair business practices because they are good for Madison, good for business and good for our customers.
The 2012 Holiday Season is here and the Chamber's seventieth anniversary in 2013 is approaching. These important occasions make this the appropriate time for our members to reflect on their reasons for being in business. This is also an appropriate time to remind our customers that the members of the Chamber are here for their benefit.
When you shop and dine Madison and enjoy our town please keep in mind that Chamber’s goal is that you enjoy your experiences with each and every business.
Look for the Madison Chamber of Commerce red rose membership window decal. It indicates that a business, its employees and its owners stand for exceptional quality and dedicated service. This symbol also indicates that the business knows it is a privilege to conduct commerce in town and is active in improving the community and keeping Madison one of the most special places in the world in which to live, work, and own a business.
