SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD - The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA is pleased to announce Zoe-Nicole Stein as the Youth of the Year Volunteer Recipient.
Zoe is a senior at the Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School. As the senior member of the Y’s gymnastics team, Zoe is the chair for the team’s 2012 17th Annual Toy Drive. She has volunteered for the toy drive for the past eight years. When the gymnastic team hosts a competition, Zoe always volunteers to work at the meet and now coordinates the volunteers.
Since 2004, Zoe has volunteered for each year’s Healthy Kids Day event held at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA, as well as participating in Martin Luther King Day of Service Activities since its inception. Zoe is an outstanding role model to younger members both as a leader on the gymnastics team and in volunteering at our SACC sites as a tutor.
Outside of the Y, she volunteers many hours at her school and within the community. Zoe is passionate about helping others and volunteers at Children’s Specialized Hospital, serves food in a soup kitchen and even participates in a dog walk to raise funds to help dogs in need. In addition to her volunteer service, Zoe raises money for cancer research by participating in such events as Relay for Life; 3K Walk for Cancer and Cycle for Survival.
The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA is proud to have a fine youth volunteer like Zoe to receive this award and congratulates her on this achievement.
