You're Not Alone

Most people who seek counseling are looking to work one-on-one with a therapist. There are times when group therapy in the form of a support group can be extremely beneficial and maybe more appropriate than individual therapy.
The benefits of a support group are realizing that you are not alone in your pain, problem or whatever the issue that is being addressed by the group.mLearning how others have moved through the difficult time and come out on the other side helps to instill hope for the group members. All information shared is confidential.
It is important that the group is facilitated by a professional counselor, social worker or psychologist.
Nancy Arvizzigno, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a private practice in Westfield, will be forming a support group for people dealing with divorce. The group will begin in the next two weeks. Future groups include a support group for children whose parents are divorcing, a parenting support group and a group for single women ages 28- 40.
Most insurance companies will reimburse for group therapy. For questions about these groups or about individual therapy, please contact Nancy Arvizzigno at 908 625-7206.
