Madison-based Quest Diagnostics, the world’s leading provider of diagnostic information services, joined other Y community partners and organizations for this free community event and provided vouchers for a complimentary wellness screening. 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist for women’s rowing and Quest Diagnostics Community Wellness Ambassador Esther Lofgren discussed leadership and healthy lifestyles with families, lead children in a Zumba dance and participated in photo opportunities with parents and children. The YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day, celebrated by more than 1,500 Y’s across the country, gets kids moving and learning, so they can keep up the habit all summer long – a critical out-of-school time for kids’ health. Helping bring families and kids together to have fun, be active, learn more and create lasting, healthy habits for the entire family, Healthy Kids Day is just one more way the Y works to strengthen community.
