LIVINGSTON, NJ - On Tuesday, March 25, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. , Congregational Learning at Temple B’nai Abraham (TBA), which is located at 300 E. Northfield Road, will be presenting a free workshop entitled, “Raising Ethical Children,” led by Peter Nelson, Director of Facing History and Ourselves. The public is invited to attend and join experts in education or adolescent development, along with the Facing History program staff. Those interested may register online or call 973.994.3950.

The topics to be discussed will include: social cruelty among children, evaluating bystander behavior, being a parent to whom your child can turn, helping your child build self-esteem and combating stereotypes.

Facing History and Ourselves is a national educational organization whose mission is to engage students of diverse backgrounds in civic education that encourages the skills, promotes the values, and fosters the ideals needed to sustain a democratic society. Facing History involves the community—parents, teachers, police officers, community activists and other citizens. Facing History and Ourselves is a curriculum that honors duality—process and product, head and heart, history and ethics.

Temple B’nai Abraham encourages members of the community to explore the many opportunities to learn at TBA. According to a temple spokesperson, education does not stop with a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, high school or college graduation, or ever—Jewish education is a life-long process.
