Workers Compensatation: $125,000 for Seven Employees

PATERSON, NJ – The City Council Wednesday night approved almost $125,000 worth of workers compensation claims in seven different cases.

Here’s the breakdown:

Jason Wester received $15,900. He is a police officer who injured his back in a motorcycle accident on May 17, 2010.

Marvin Sykes received $19,008. He is a police officer who hurt his back, neck and right shoulder in July 8, 2008 when he was stopped at a traffic light in his patrol vehicle and rear-ended by a truck.

Omas Figueroa received $11,686. He is a public works employee who hurt his knee when he fell from a city truck on Oct. 4, 2010.

Richard Davis received $29,088. He is a driver in the healh and human services department. He hurt his back when he was a passenger in a vehicle that was hit by another vehicle at a stop sign on Dec. 8, 2008.

Joseph Edwards received $11,686. He is a public works employee who injured his right knee when he fwlll from a truck on Apr. 25, 2010.

Greg Lisowski received $20,832. He is a firefighter who hurt his arm and shoulder while training with a  bail-out system and exiting a window on July 6, 2009.

James Farulla received $16,222. He is a police officer who injured his left knee walking up stairs at police headquarters on May 20, 2009.
