"Cheers" never had it this bad.

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is relying on the place where everybody knows your name -- or in this case, face -- to get children the thousands of dollars they are owed by law.

Facebook and Twitter have become the new tools of officers in the Warrant Division's battle against deadbeat parents, many whom owe thousands in child support, announced the department Monday at a press conference.

According to NBC10, the sheriff's office is using "social media shaming" to entice the deadbeat dad or mom to turn himself or herself in.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Facebook page will feature five new deadbeat parents each week. Follow its Twitter account here.

Brian Allen, whose last known address is 2620 Skippack Pike, Worcester Township, is one of the featured culprits, owing child support for one child in the amount of $29,222.44, police said. Allen is Case No. 697114016.

The press conference came nearly a week after overnight raids by police that rounded up six deadbeat parents. The sweep involved 12 deputies deployed to different areas of Montgomery County at 1 a.m. July 16. In their hands, there was a list of 31 wanted names, who owed in all $395,117 to 60 children.
