Why Am I Running for Congress?

Over the past year, I’ve spoken with hundreds of Democrats, Republicans and Independents across Northern New Jersey. We discussed their concerns regarding politics, the economy, and the future. While opinions differed, one common theme emerged: Congress is broken. The current Congress has an approval rating of just 15 percent and is on track to be the least productive Congress in history. We are all ready for actual change, change in how Congress operates.
What’s missing from Congress is a desire to work together to solve our country’s problems. This lack of desire from both parties resulted in a government shutdown, halting federal loan applications and furloughing 850,000 federal employees, ultimately costing the nation $2 billion in lost productivity. This expensive stunt was engineered by congressmen who care more about scoring political points than helping the American people. They ignore bipartisanship because they forget one important thing. Though this country is made up of Democrats, Republicans, Independents, we all have one common denominator – we are Americans. We need Congress to remember why they were elected and have more compassion for our fellow Americans, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status, or political beliefs.
I am running for Congress not to vote yes or no just to support the party line but to bring compassion and a willingness to reach across the aisle to Congress.
I’m a professional problem solver, a true numbers guy, who analyzes complex problems and proposes reasonable solutions based on expert feedback. I have 15 years of experience working in the private sector solving problems for clients by collaborating with colleagues, third party professionals, and sometimes competitors. I approach solving our nation’s problems the same way I would engage a client in the office. I identify the problem, outline every potential solution and ramification, and then offer the best possible solution to that problem.
Now I’m seeking a new client, the ultimate client: the 11th Congressional District of New Jersey.
As your Congressman, I will start a conversation on national issues right here in NJ-11. I’m going to tackle the issues of the day and, with your help, present solutions, based in research and analysis, to move the country forward. My platform is made of reasonable, balanced solutions for our nation’s problems that can and will pass both the House and the Senate.
I am running to make a difference, to help the many, and to move the conversation forward. I am running because it is time for real, non-partisan solutions. The gridlock has gone on too long. We need action and we need it now more than ever. The good people of this district deserve nothing less.
