WEST ORANGE, NJ - There's plenty going on in West Orange this week.  Here are some of the highlights:

Monday, March 4

The Board of Education will approve the preliminary budget for 2013-2014 during a meeting at the Library Meida Center at WOHS beginning at 8:00.  (Note: this is not the final budget, which the Board will vote on at the end of  March.  The Board will also present the information regarding the budget at a BOE meeting this month).

Open Mic Night at the West Orange Public Library

7:00PM-8:30PM, Meeting Room

Open to Teens in Grades 6-12

All musicians and those interested in music are welcome; registration required.

Tuesday, March 5

There will be a Town Council meeting, Conference Agenda to begin at 6:30 pm, and Public Meeting, at 7:00 pm.  Items of note on the agenda include contract approvals for the Public Information Officer and township Grant Writer, along with approval of a landscaping contract with D'Onofrio and Sons in the amount of $135,000.00. Also expect another conversation about Prism, who has not yet paid their property taxes due 2/1/13.

Wednesday, March 6

At WO Public Library: 10-2pm, AARP Tax Preparation Assistance; 6:30-8:30 pm, Elementary Art Showcase Reception in the Meeting Room.

The Planning Board will meet in Council Chambers at 7:30.

Thursday, March 7

Opening reception for Artist Robert Lach
