Swimmers ages 3+ can improve their skills this summer with The Connection’s iSwim program. Starting June 23rd, children can participate in weekly afternoon lessons to help them become better swimmers and safely enjoy the water this summer!
ISwim classes run Monday-Friday afternoons for eight weeks… parents may sign up for any week or weeks that best fit their busy summer schedules. Swimming 5 days in a row helps children to retain and develop their skills in small group classes with trained instructors they will love.
3-5 year olds will learn basic front/back skills including arm and leg actions, floating and gliding. Safety in and around the water, plus shallow and deep water will be explored in the 30 minute lesson.
5-8 year old beginners will receive an introduction to the water and safety skills. Basic introductory skills are taught in both shallow and deep water for those who are just starting to swim in this 45 minute lesson. Independent swimmers ages 6+ will work on improving technique, endurance and diving plus an introduction to swim turns in a 45 minute lesson. All students must be able to swim the full length of the pool independently.
Children 8+ will improve their timing and technique and keep in shape over the summer to prep for swim team. Each week focuses on a different stroke/technique in this 1 hour long class for advanced swimmers capable of swimming all 4 competitive strokes. Weeks 1 and 8 will cover all 4 strokes, week 2 will focus on Butterfly, week 3 will focus on backstroke, weeks 4 and 7 will cover all starts and turns, week 5 will focus on Breaststroke, and week 6 will focus on Freestyle.
