Westfield’s Training Wheel Toss Will Teach Kids to Ride in Two Hours

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield will hold its first annual Training Wheel Toss June 1 to teach kids ages five to nine in a safe, easy and effective manner to ride a bike in just two hours. Free sessions will be held in the parking lot of Westfield Memorial Pool.
Pre-registration is not required. Sessions will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1p.m. to 3 p.m. Registration forms should be filled out and brought to the event. Click for required forms.
Participants must wear a helmet and have a bicycle that is in good working condition with the training wheels removed. Participants must be able to rest their feet flat on the ground while sitting on the bicycle seat. Children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the entire session.
The Training Wheel Toss is in cooperation with the Westfield Recreation Department, Westfield Health Department, Westfield Optimist Club, Westfield Police Department, Westfield Fitness, Hilltop Bicycles, Riders of the Pan Mass Challenge and HbW.
While the event is free, donations will be accepted for children’s cancer research.
