On Wednesday, June 4, at 7 p.m., the Westfield Memorial Library hosts “The Fabulous Fifties,” presented by entertainers Linda Ipanema and husband Stan Edwards. The library is located at 550 East Broad Street.

This musical journey through the fantastic fifties highlights the songs and singers that made them so fabulous Linda Ipanema and husband Stan Edwards present this tribute to the wonderful singers and songs of this exciting decade. More than a tribute, Linda Ipanema and Stan Edwards undercut nostalgia sentimentality with raucous comedy and irreverence.

This husband and wife duo, despite being opposites, complement each other with their talents. You'll be up singing, dancing and clapping through the entire performance to the songs of yesterday, including “Music, Music, Music;” “Mambo Italiano”; “Heart of My Heart”; “Sincerely; I'm Yours”; “Chances Are”; and “Rock Around the Clock.”

Linda has been in show business most of her life. In addition to stage Broadway musicals, she has appeared in leading films, such as “A Bronx Tale,” “The Pope of Greenwich Village,” “Once Upon a Time in America,” and in hit TV shows, such as “Law & Order.”

The program is free and open to the Westfield Memorial Library and MURAL cardholders. (MURAL cardholders belong to libraries that are part of the Middlesex Union Reciprocal Agreement Libraries.
