On Thursday, March 21 at 7:00 p.m., a program on Stress Management and Disaster Preparedness will be held at the Westfield Memorial Library. The library is located at 550 East Broad Street.

The program is offered by New Jersey Hope and Healing, a project sponsored by the New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services - Disaster and Terrorism Branch, in partnership with the Mental Health Association in NJ.

No one who lives through a disaster is untouched by the experience. Besides damage to property, our physical and mental health may be impacted.

Topics discussed in this talk will include: the emotional response to natural disasters, predicting and preparing for emotional reactions, getting through the emotional challenges of a disaster and techniques for managing stress and anxiety.

The event is free and open to the public. To register for the program, visit the library’s website at www.wmlnj.org, click on the Calendar tab, or call 908.789.4090 ext 0.
