The Westfield Area Y is taking steps to educate and protect children within our community by participating in the “Stewards of Children” program. A “Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Training” will be held on Tuesday, March 12th from 6:30-8:30 pm at the Main Y Facility, 220 Clark Street in Westfield.

This program educates adults to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. The training session will help adults build awareness on what to look for and steps to follow in order to protect our children. Child sexual abuse is an agonizing and traumatic experience for its victims and is a crime punishable by law.
The training is for adults only and open to Y members and the community. Interested participants should register in advance and in person at the Welcome Center. There is a $10 fee for this training. Please call Susan Morton at (908) 654-8460 or email smorton@westfieldynj.org with any questions.

The Y is the nation’s leading nonprofit committed to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Visit www.westfieldynj.org to learn more about Westfield Area Y programs. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.
