WESTFIELD, NJ—On Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 8:30 p.m., the Cranford and Westfield High School Varsity Hockey teams will use their Union County game at Warinaco Park Skating Rink in Roselle Park to support an extraordinary young boy and his family.
"Unite for Will" will benefit three-year-old Will DeGregorio of Cranford, who suffers a rare form of adrenal cancer. His mother, Kara Shields, is a beloved special education teacher at Westfield High School. The friendly rivalry between the Cranford Cougars and Westfield Blue Devils will take a backseat for this game as members of both communities join together to help one courageous little boy.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. 100 percent of proceeds will go to help DeGregorio in his fight against cancer.
In addition, raffle tickets will be sold for $10 each. Prizes include Rangers and Devils tickets, NY Knicks tickets, NY Mets tickets and a complimentary overnight stay at the New York Marriott Marquis.
Buy tickets in advance at Vicki's Diner in Westfield or from Auguste Mae or the Rustic Mill in Cranford.
Donations can also be made to “Friends of CHS Hockey C/O Will” and sent to 111 James Street, Cranford, NJ 07016.
