WEST ORANGE, NJ - The West Orange boys varsity soccer team stunned Livingston, 4-0, to win its fifth game of the season and improve their record to 5-7-2 on Monday night.

Six West Orange players recorded either a goal or an assist.

Sophomore Zach Brown scored off a volley from senior Garret Mulinge in the first minute of the opening half to open the scoring. Senior Michael Vargas was awarded a penalty shot in the seventh minute and blasted the ball into the net to advance the Mountaineers lead to 2-0.

After the intermission, the Mountaineers continued to convert as junior Rory Stello launched a shot a few feet from the box to give West Orange a safe lead. Five minutes later, the team's leading scorer, senior Ian Faloye, scored off a header from an impressive throw-in by Michael Zarro. Josh Feinblatt and Diego Pedrido shared five saves.

"That was our best performance of the year. Offensively, defensively, the way we moved the ball, the chances we created, and they're a very good team Livingston," said Mountaineers head coach Doug Nevins, "Everyone was really sharp, unselfish, moving the ball, good crosses and shots. I really could not say a bad thing about the performance."

The Mountaineers had an impressive showing as they possessed the ball for the majority of the time that led to plenty of scoring opportunities with excellent crosses and passes from multiple players.

West Orange will look to continue their success against a tough Montclair soccer team at Montclair on Friday, Oct. 25 at 4 p.m.
