West Orange Soccer Forward Williams Signs Letter of Intent with St. John’s University

WEST ORANGE, NJ - Jelani Williams, a West Orange High School senior, has received a full athletic scholarship to attend St. John’s University to be part of their soccer team.
St. John’s University is part of the Big East Conference. Williams is the seventh West Orange High School soccer player in the last ten years to receive a D1 athletic scholarship. He signed his Letter of Intent committing him to the university on February 1, 2012 at West Orange High School.
Williams, a forward for the West Orange High School Boys Varsity Soccer team, was named an All State Player.
“Jelani is an incredible player. He will go down as one of the most talented players in our high school history. If he works hard, he will have a great college career,” said Head Coach Doug Nevins. Nevins himself played for Villanova University and was named All Big East Player of the Year in 1995, as well as State Coach of the Year in 2006.
