West Orange Police Blotter for Sept. 19-22 Highlights Arrests and Falsely Reported Robberies

WEST ORANGE, NJ - Robberies, arrests, and false reports top Police Blotter news for Sept. 19-22.
Armed Robbery: Victims reported they were robbed at gunpoint by two actors that forced them to the ground, removing a black IPhone and keys and a bag of ice cream from the female's pocket at South Valley Road and Tremont Avenue on the West Orange/Orange border. The male victim was kicked while on the ground. Suspects are described as a black male, 17-20 years old, thin, 6-feet, wearing a dark hoodies with orange shorts, and black handgun; and a black male, 17-20 years old, thin, dark hoodie and dark cargo shorts.
Burglary/Theft: Victim reports the theft of a cell phone, iPad, Mini iPad, four charging cords, and two chargers from their residence on Beverly Road after discovering an open window. Victim reported that he heard his dogs barking but did not think anything of it.
Motor Vehicle Theft: Victim reported the theft of his 1999 black Jeep Grand Cherokee on Main Street.
Commercial Burglary: Police responded to a call that the Krauzers on Central Avenue had been robbed with entry gained through the rooftop, though nothing seems to have been missing. However, surveillance video showed the attempted entry at 2:47 am by a male, later identified as Deshawn Porter, a West Orange resident later arrested for the incident. Porter is 22 and currently incarcerated. He is also suspected in a string of robberies in the Valley area, though that has not yet been proven.
Theft of Property: The Wilshire Hotel reported the theft of a hub capfrom a 2010 Freightliner Coach vehicle valued at $175.
Shoplifting: The CVS on South Valley Road reported the theft of Dove deodorants placed into two large bags by a blonde haired, large black female, totaling $170. She is also the suspect in an August 28 shoplifting incident at the store.
Criminal Mischief to Motor Vehicle: Victim reports that someone scratched the driver's side rear door of her vehicle at 80 Main Street.
Burglary to MV: Victim reported that loose change was removed from his 1997 Mercury Villager on Valley Road. The driver's side window was smashed.
Theft of Gas: The Citgo on Northfield Avenue reported two unknown black female suspects took off without paying for $7.00 worth of gas.
Burglary to Residence: A victim on Lindsley Avenue reported to entry into his residence and the theft of a black Dell Laptop and Dell Laptop totaling $1,500.00.
Shoplifting: The Macy's at Essex Green reported the attempted theft of 6 hooded sweatshirts and 3 sweatpants. The merchandise was recovered but the two black female suspects ran off without being caught.
Theft of Property: A resident on Pen Bryn Road reported the theft of two aluminum ladders valued at $200 from the back yard of their property.
Shoplifting: A pack of cigarettes was taken from Roka's Grocery on Valley Road by a black male.
Criminal Mischief: Erin Mayo, 37, of East Orange, was arrested after kicking and shattering the window in the front of the Lukoil at 654 Eagle Rock Avenue.
Prescription Fraud: An unknown black female was found attempting to fill fradulent prescriptions for codeine and Xanex. Surveillance footage is available.
