WEST ORANGE, NJ - Due to the incredible response to its initial Ice Hockey Pilot program ending on August 19, the West Orange Mountain Top League is excited to announce additional Fall sessions. Two new 8-week programs will be offered in Introduction to West Orange Youth Ice Hockey, once again in collaboration with West Orange High School Hockey Coach Eddie Scafidi.
The program is co-ed and open to West Orange residents between the ages of 5 and 16. No experience is necessary. The inexpensive $50 fee covers registration costs for all eight skating sessions. Skates can be rented at the arena for an additional fee.
Sessions will be held at Clary Anderson Arena, located at 41 Chestnut St. in Montclair.
Session 2 will be held on Mondays starting September 9, and run until October 28. Sessions will be held from 5:00 PM to 6:00 pm.
Session 3 will be held on Wednesdays starting September 4, and run every Wednesday until October 23. Sessions will be held from 5:00 PM to 6:00 pm.
Each session will have two program options:
1) Learn to Skate - Requires no experience, but requires each child to wear head protection. Skates can be rented at an additional charge at the Arena.
2) Hockey Development - This requires the player to come fully equipped with hockey gear to learn the basics of hockey.
In addition to sign ups, MTL is also looking for experienced Hockey volunteer coaches to assist with the program.
Interested families are encouraged to sign up quickly.
