West Orange High School Teacher to Be Formally Charged in Arraignment Scheduled for September 12

WEST ORANGE, NJ - Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray announced that West Orange school teacher Erica DePalo, 33, of Montclair, will be arraigned on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 9 a.m. before the Honorable Roslyn Holmes-Grant, J.S.C.
DePalo was charged on Friday, August 31, 2012 with having an illegal sexual relationship with a 15-year-old male student she taught in her Honors English class at West Orange High School. Specifically, DePalo was charged with first degree aggravated sexual assault, second degree sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. The alleged involvement began on or about June 15 and continued until August 28.
DePalo made the bail of $100,000 as set by the Honorable Martin G. Cronin, Judge of the Superior Court, who also signed an arrest warrant for DePalo on August 31. Her attorney is Anthony Alfano of Lyndhurst, New Jersey.
