WEST ORANGE, NJ - West Orange senior center back Ian Faloye is the soccer team’s leading scorer, but has big plans for his future off of the field.

After high school Ian plans to attend college and study either law or finance. He still plans to play soccer on the highest level possible while in college. For Ian soccer is more than a game, it is a passion.

“I play soccer because when I was younger I just fell in love with the game,” Faloye said.

The sport of soccer also provides freedom and camaraderie, two things that Faloye values.

“The best part of playing soccer is the freedom you are afforded when on the field. The best part of being on a team is the way it’s like a second family. There is nothing better than going out and doing what you love with a group of guys you can proudly call your brothers,” Faloye said.

One of Faloye’s teammates, Josh Feinblatt, appreciates the efforts that Ian brings to each game. As a goalkeeper, Feinblatt values Ian’s defensive contributions.

“Last year when I had to hop in as the starting goalie, Ian always made sure he held down the defense. He is a leader on the field and great at winning the ball,” said Feinblatt.

Feinblatt also values Ian’s offensive contributions to the team especially due to the fact that he plays defense saying, “The fact that he has been in the top 3 spots on the team for the most goals as a centerback says a lot about his ability to finish on the small amount of chances he has.”

Faloye also enjoys other various activities off of the soccer field. When given some free time, Faloye enjoys playing video games like FIFA soccer, and watching his other favorite sports, basketball and football.

Faloye scored his seventh goal at the Boys Soccer Team first tournament game on November 5.  He'll be shooting for number 8 on Friday, November 8 when the Mountaineers travel to Livingston for their second round of playoff games.
