Wednesday, March 20, 2013 • 6:26pm
WEST ORANGE, NJ - On Monday, March 25, volunteers and students from the West Orange Community will be on hand to assist with the preparation and serving of five simultaneous Passover Seders at Daughters of Israel, a skilled nursing and short-term rehab facility in West Orange, NJ. Residents from various units participating in the Seders include those in Long-Term Care, Short-Term Rehabilitation, and Memory Care.
“The Jewish holiday of Passover can be a lonely time for our residents who are celebrating by themselves, without their family members,” remarked Susan Grosser, Executive Director, Daughters of Israel. “We’ve implemented the Seder Leader program to make the holiday come alive for the residents with warm and vibrant volunteers. We’re also holding five separate Seders, rather than one large Seder, which will provide the residents with a more intimate and memorable experience.”
Set up will take place between 2-3 pm and the first Seder will commence at 5:15 pm. Passover Officially begins at 6:56 pm. The Seder will be held at the Daughters of Israel, Plafsky Family Campus D, Cooperman Family Building, 1155 Pleasant Valley WayWest Orange, NJ 07052,
