WEST CALDWELL, NJ - Dan Cipoletti has announced his candidacy for the Caldwell-West Caldwell Board of Education. According to his press release, Cipoletti, who has been a resident of West Caldwell for 20 years, believes “it is time for a new voice to be heard to prepare children for the challenges of life in a fiscally responsible way that will benefit all residents of the community.”

Cipoletti, 46, has always lived and worked in New Jersey and grew up attending classes in the public school system. He and his wife Anita have been married for 20 years and have two children, Nicole and Kate, who are currently enrolled in the school district. Cipoletti is an active member of the community; he volunteers his time to coach Caldwell-West Caldwell Recreation soccer and t-ball, is a parishioner at St. Aloysius and is also a trustee at the West Caldwell Library.

“I have lived in this community for some time, and I believe it is time to take an active role in the development of our school children,” Cipoletti expressed. “Education is extremely important in that development; not only today, but as our children progress through their lives. We need to ensure the experience is well rounded and beneficial to all our children.”

After receiving a degree in Finance from Seton Hall University in 1985, Cipoletti then finished his Seton Hall MBA in Marketing in 1989. His other management citations include Marketing from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management and Management from Columbia’s School of Business. Cipoletti is currently employed at Asurion, where he concentrates on strategy and product development. In the past he has also held management positions at Virgin Mobile, Net2Phone and AT&T. In addition, he is on the board of directors at Eva’s Village in Paterson and a corporate coordinator at Teach For America.

Nov. 5, Cipoletti will be running for one of two school board seats against Charles Alberta, Marie Lanfrank and incumbents, Rosanne Hansen and John King. Board members hold the seat for three years.
