Weather Alerts from Morris County Office of Emergency Management
Sunday, December 8, 2013 • 5:05pm
The Morris County Office of Emergency Management will be monitoring the weather throughout the evening and into the overnight. We already have our road crews out and we will remain activated throughout the weather event. The last review looks like the potential snow totals could increase depending on elevation.
The snowfall has already begun. We anticipate that the snow will increase fairly rapidly and become moderate at times. The snow is expected to continue into the evening hours before changing to sleet later this evening and to rain by 5-6 a.m. 2-4 inches of snow accumulation is forecasted before the changeover.
There could also be some freezing rain during the early morning hours on Monday between 2 and 4 a.m., with around .10 of ice buildup possible. An additional inch of slush will also be possible overnight as well due to sleet.
