Water Rescue at Passaic River
Sunday, February 3, 2013 • 4:41pm
On Sat. night 2/1 in flurries of the storm members of the Berkeley Heights Fire Department assisted by New Providence FD and Summit FD rescued two individuals from the PassaicB River. The two individuals claimed were "turtle hunting" when they plunged through the ice and into the frigid river. After close to an hour they were removed and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Please join me in thanking our fire fighters for braving the elements and the frigid waters to save these two individuals. We are truly fortunate to have dedicated volunteers like these in Berkeley Heights.
Best Regards,
Joseph G Bruno
