Watchung Hills Regional High School Earns Top Ranking Nationally According to Newsweek

WARREN, NJ - Watchung Hills Regional High School has earned more high marks nationally in a compilation by The Daily Beast. Newsweek has announced its rankings of more than 700 public, private, charter and magnet schools across the country, and Watchung Hills Regional High School comes in at No.123.
 
Newsweek used six indicators for its ranking methodology, its Daily Beast website said, to rank the 700 best high schools in the country. "We used six indicators culled from school surveys to compare public high schools in the U.S., with graduation and college acceptance rates weighed most heavily. Other criteria included: college-level courses and exams, percentage of students with free or reduced lunch, as well as SAT and ACT scores - another mark of how well a school prepares students for college."
 
According to the ranking, Watchung Hills Regional High School had a 98.4 percent graduation rate and 96-percent of the students are "college-bound." The average SAT and ACT scores for Watchung Hills Regional High School students were 1688 and 25.4 , respectively, the rankings showed with 31.2 percent  enrolled in AP/IB courses, with  0.5 exams taken and an AP/IB exam pass rate of 87.20 percent.
