Washington Elementary, Summit H.S. Students Participate in Theatre Exchange Program

SUMMIT, NJ - Cast and crew members from the Summit High School (SHS) spring musical, 42nd Street, visited Washington Elementary School as part of a “theatre exchange” program.

The SHS students performed the production number “Money” for the children, and the Washington School Fourth and Fifth Grade students, in turn, performed a piece from their upcoming production, Washington 101written and directed by Washington School parent Michal Mirelman Efron. 

The educational outreach then concluded with a “talk-back” session where the students discussed what they love about and what they have learned from Musical Theatre, as well as the entire group of Elementary and High School students sang the “Cup” song together.  

The SHS production of 42nd Street runs Wednesday and Thursday, March 5-6 at 6 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, March 7-8 at 7:30 p.m.  Tickets are $12 for students and seniors, and $15 for adults.  Group rates are available.  For ticket information call the SHS Ticket information hotline:  908 / 918-2122.

The Washington School production of Washington 101, including nearly 100 students, takes place on March 14 at 1 p.m. for the school, and 7 p.m. for family and friends.
