A Lansdale woman charged with prostitution in Lansdale now has a bench warrant issued against her for failing to appear at a pre-trial conference in Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas last month, according to The Reporter.
Tonja Wimer, 26, of the 100 block of West Hancock Street, is free on $5,000 unsecured bail since a waiver of a formal arraignment in March, per court records.
Wimer was arrested in January on the charges of felony use of a communication device and misdemeanor prostitution after an undercover operation, police said. Wimer had been arrested twice for the alleged crime in the past, but was never charged.
Wimer allegedly offered an undercover detective $100 for sex via text message, police said. The detective had contacted Wimer via text messaging after finding an online ad, and she allegedly responded with a meeting time and nude photo, police said.
She allegedly met the detective at the door, dressed in lingerie, and he asked for oral sex, police said. Before Wimer could remove the detective's pants, he told her to stop and he left, upon which time Lansdale police arrived and arrested her, police said.
