Walk This Way, TransOptions’ free, month-long walking campaign, is back and better than ever! All month long, partners in Walk This Way will be stepping up and putting their best foot forward to spread the message of pedestrian safety awareness in northwestern New Jersey.
Walk This Way is a fun and friendly opportunity for anyone, regardless of age or ability, to get out and walk. Safe walking is the goal, but TransOptions encourages all partners to walk with a purpose. Walk for safety, walk for health, walk for you.
Everyone can register as a partner at GoForGood.TransOptions.org. Registration and participation in the campaign are both completely free of charge.
Once registered, it’s simple: start walking and log any trips on foot. With a new online tracking dashboard, participants can compare their trips and miles walked in real-time. Each entry (limit one per day) gives walkers a greater chance at winning numerous prizes.
Each week, TransOptions will raffle off a Safe Walking Kit (value: $75), complete with iPod Shuffle, Historical Walking Tour for two from the Morris County Tourism Bureau, reflective lanyard, walker’s water bottle, two reflective zipper pulls and a reflective slap band.
The Grand Prize in the team category, a $100 gift card for each team member, will be awarded to the team with the most entries throughout the entire month (limit one per day, per member). Our two grand prizes in the individual category will be awarded to the participants who logged the most miles and submitted the most entries. They will both receive $250 gift cards. All Grand Prize winners will also receive the aforementioned Safe Walking Kit.
All participants have a chance at winning Surprise Prizes for sharing their accomplishments on Facebook, or spreading the message of safe walking in some other way.
