Volunteers Needed at The Arc of Essex County’s Stepping Stones School in Roseland

ROSELAND, NJ - The Arc of Essex County is seeking volunteers for its Stepping Stones School for the 2013-2014 academic year. Located on the second floor of the Roseland Borough Hall, at 19 Harrison Avenue, the school educates children from birth to age nine who are living with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and primarily focuses on students with Down syndrome.

Volunteers are needed to work either morning or afternoon time periods. Anyone interested will have to attend the mandatory volunteer orientation meeting on Thursday, Aug. 29, at 11 a.m. at the school. The Stepping Stones school serves students from 23 school districts throughout northern New Jersey. It prides itself on its ability to benefit the students’ growth developmentally, academically, and socially through its well-trained teachers, therapists and dedicated volunteers.
