FANWOOD – Kids and adults enjoyed making Valentine's Day Cards on Sunday at the Fanwood Museum. There were vintage and Victorian valentines from the 1860’s to the 1960’s on display, providing inspiration.
The Fanwood Museum is located in the Fanwood train station at 256 South Ave. The train station was built in 1874 and is Victorian Gothic.
The Fanwood Historic Preservation Commission sponsored the exhibit of valentines. As per Joseph Nagy, the commission’s historian, the lower level of the train station used to be the community meeting place, until seven years ago when it became the home to the Fanwood Historic Preservation Commission.
