SUMMIT, NJ – On Wednesday, May 21 at 7 pm, the public is invited to attend a free program on “Understanding Veterans Benefits,” which is being held at SAGE Eldercare, 290 Broad Street, Summit. Frank Quadrino and Paul Charbonneau from the Regional Office of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will be on hand to present the program.
This seminar will help participants understand different types of veterans’ benefits and how to navigate through the VA system. The program will also explain what the VA has to offer from a healthcare standpoint, as well as benefits for widows and dependents of veterans. A discussion on home care and adult day care benefits will also be part of the presentation. The program is part of SAGE’s monthly P.R.E.P. (People Responsible for Elderly Persons) support group meeting.
“We are excited to have both speakers from the VA office with us to cover this topic,” stated Ellen McNally, Director of InfoCare at SAGE. “Monthly, SAGE’s P.R.E.P. support group is open to the public so that caregivers have the chance to meet others in similar circumstances, learn effective problem-solving and coping skills, and receive emotional support. Most months, we bring in outside speakers who are of interest to our group and the public, at large.”
To register for the May 21 program or to obtain more information, please call SAGE Eldercare at 908.598.5548 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. P.R.E.P. (People Responsible for Elderly Persons) Support Group meetings are always open to the public and are held at 7 pm the third Wednesday of every month at SAGE.
