Schools are Ready for Construction
Crews are getting ready to break ground on new school construction. Last year, voters approved the $18.2 million project to add 14 new elementary classrooms, three media centers, and bring full ADA compliance to the older portion of Livingston High School. While a good portion of the work will begin after schools close for the summer, cones and fencing are among the signs of the work to come and the procedures to make sure the construction happens safely around the schools.

PRIDE Presents an Open House
A five-day preschool program is being offered by Livingston Public Schools beginning in September that will integrate children with special needs with regular education students. Learn more about the program at an open house at 1:45-2:15 p.m. Friday, June 6 at Burnet Hill Elementary School. The classes are located at Burnet Hill for children who turn 3 or 4 before October 1, 2014.

Learn More About Special Education
Members of the LPS Student Services Department will present an overview at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4 at Heritage Middle School to share information on special education programs and the IEP process.

Get Rid of Your High-Tech Trash
Livingston's Late Spring Electronic Recycling and Paper Shredding event will be Saturday, June 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot behind the Community Center, 204 Hillside Ave. Items that will be accepted include VCRs, TVs, computers, toasters, vacuums, and cables. Paper shredding will be done on site. There is a five-box maximum for paper to be shredded.

LIVE Telethon and Celebration
The Livingston High School Television Program is partnering with the Livingston Education Foundation (LEF) to celebrate over 30 years of education and programming serving the high school and the greater community.
 
To celebrate the studio’s accomplishments, LHS TV program alumni and current students will hold its first Livingston TV Telethon bringing viewers 13 hours of programming from 11 a.m. to midnight on Saturday, June 7. The program will showcase productions from current students and LHS alumni in addition to live performances from local bands, comedians, and magicians.

Athletic Forms Go Online
New online forms for athletics in the Livingston Public Schools forms are simplifying the process for enrolling student athletes in interscholastic, intramural sport, and club/dance programs. The athletic forms are available on the LPS website by clicking on the Genesis Parent Access Portal. Parents will use these online forms to enroll in sports programs at LHS, Heritage and Mt. Pleasant Middle School.

Next BOE Meeting

The Livingston Board of Education will meet 7 p.m., Monday,  June 2 at Riker Hill Elementary School.

Subscription Busing
Subscription busing is available on a lottery basis for LPS students who are not eligible for free busing. Applications are due June 30. Click HERE for the application.
