Update: Man Wounded During Robbery in 5th Ward Early Friday

PATERSON, NJ - Police say a man was wounded during an robbery near the corner of Ellison Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard earlly Friday morning. S
The victim, a 37-year-old city resident, told police he stopped his car in the area and got out with his engine running when he was approached a lone gunman who demanded his property. When the victim resisted the robbery, the gunman shot him once and took off in the victim's 1993 Toyota Camry. The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic male, 5’5”-5’6’ tall, with thin build, police said.
Police officers responded to the scene after getting reports of gunshots being fired at about 12:50 am and found a victim with a wound to his right leg. The victim was then transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medicall Center by ambulance, where he is in stable condition.
