Tuesday, May 28, 2013 • 5:40pm
Theodore “Ted” Romankow, Union County Prosecutor, will speak about crime and punishment in the 21st century at the June 3 meeting of the Summit Old Guard at the New Providence Municipal Center. The presentation will be an update of current gang crime in Union County. Prosecutor Romankow in continuing his effort to stem violence created a Gang Task Force and Gang Intelligence Unit. Under his direction, a Union County gang member pictorial directory was created. This was the first in the state to utilize various identifiers required by the Federal Register. He also established only the second nationally and internationally accredited DNA laboratory in New Jersey. The other laboratory was under the Supervision of the New Jersey State Police.
Mr. Romankow is a graduate of Seton Hall University and the Rutgers School of Law, Newark.
