Two South Orange Houses Burglarized

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – Police are investigating burglaries at two homes.
A Lenox Avenue resident reported that someone entered their home and stole several Apple laptops and pieces of jewelry sometime between 5 p.m. on April 9 and 4:15 p.m. on April 10. Police believe that the suspect may have entered the house through a back door, but there were no signs of forced entry.
Someone also broke into a vacant house near the corner of South Orange Avenue and Warren Court and stole copper piping and aluminum air ducts sometime between 3:30 p.m. on April 7 and 9:30 a.m. on April 8. The suspect gained entry by damaging a rear door.
In other police news:
A manager of an Irvington Avenue gas station told police that someone stole gas at about 10:15 p.m. on April 4. The suspect, described as a clean-shaven black male, requested a full tank of gas and then fled the scene in a GMC SUV without paying.
Dean Williams, 19, of Eastport, N.Y., was arrested when he was observed slashing a tire of a vehicle on Cottage Street at approximately 6:30 a.m. on April 6. Officers apprehended Williams on South Orange Avenue as he was walking away from the scene.
A Fairview Avenue resident stated that someone stole a British flag from his porch sometime during the overnight hours of April 4.
- Antionett Robinson, 55, of Orange, was arrested when she was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Centre Street at approximately 7:40 a.m. on April 7. During questioning, officers discovered that Robinson had two outstanding warrants from Orange. She was arrested without incident.
