SOUTH ORANGE, NJ -- A South Orange resident and a student were robbed in separate incidents.

The South Orange resident told police that he was held up at gunpoint while walking near the intersection of Irvington Avenue and Prospect Street at around 10:20 p.m. on Oct. 17. He said that two black males approached him, and one pointed a black handgun at him and demanded his watch, wallet and cell phone. After taking the victim’s possessions, the robbers fled toward Cottage Street.

A Seton Hall student said her cell phone was taken while she was walking near Wilden Place at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 17. The victim said that she was approached from behind by two people who grabbed her cell phone from her hand after a brief struggle. They fled in a gray Dodge Caravan. The robbers were described as black males in their late teens.
