PATERSON, NJ – Two more chiropractors have admitted playing a role an in insurance fraud ring at Hamilton Rehabilitation Center in downtown Paterson, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes.

Marco Esposito, 50 of Haledon, and Charles Nisivoccia, 45, of Little Falls, each pleaded guilty on Thursday to theft by deception, the press release said.

Four other people, including another chiropractor, have been named in the case.

Nisivoccia and Esposito pleaded guilty causing fraudulent personnel injury claims to be submitted to more than 30 auto insurance companies between December 2010 and February 2011, the press release said. The chiropractors admitted that they helped give a false impression to the insurance companies that the center at 100 Hamilton Plaza was “a legitimately constituted and operating chiropractic facility, when in fact they knew that non-chiropractors had an illegal disguised ownership interest in the facility and that the facility paid runners for illegal referrals,’’ the press release said.

Both Nisivoccia and Esposito admitted that they shared in the proceeds when the insurance companies paid the fraudulent claims and that they each received between $500 and $75,000, the press release said.
