Two Men Arrested on Attempted Murder Charges

PATERSON, NJ - Two city men were arrested on Thursday and charged with attempted murder in connection with the shooting that happened on Presidential Boulevard on June 12, said Sgt. Patrick Murray, head of the police department's Cease Fire unit.
The accused are Jazamir Hopkins, 22, of Presidential Boulevard, and Dashawn Fields, 24, of Grimes Place. Authorities believe they shot the victim, an 18-year-old city man, while robbing him.
The victim was wounded in the face and wrist at 8:49 pm on Tuesday and is in stable condition at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center.
Hopkins and Fields also have been charged with kidnapping, robbery and weapons offenses. Their bail has been set at $500,000, police said.
