Two-hour Spinathon Benefit at the Madison Area YMCA
Thursday, January 17, 2013 • 4:41pm
The Madison Area YMCA will hold a two-hour Spinathon on Sunday, January 27, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Donations will benefit the Annual Support Fund, a financial assistance program that allows the Madison Area YMCA to advance its charitable mission of providing facility and program access to area children and families who are unable to afford the full cost of membership, child care and early childhood education, summer camp and programs.
Spinathon participants will donate $30 to cycle one hour, $50 for two hours. Sign up now—limited bikes are available.
How proceeds help the community: $50 provides financial assistance for two children to attend a Saturday craft class; $100 provides financial assistance to cover a low-income Senior’s participation in a fitness class; $150 covers 10 weeks of swim lessons for two children who could not otherwise afford to register; $250 provides a healthy after-school sports program for three children; $500 helps pay for two weeks of Pre-Kindergarten child care enabling a young parent to look for a job.
Madison Area Y instructors, Ali Dwyer and Ann Marie Battaglia, who are donating their time, will lead the Spinathon.
Donations are tax deductible.
