Two Arrested in Theft of Bike from South Orange Train Station

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – Police arrested two youths in connection with the theft of a bicycle at 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 26.
A juvenile from Maplewood and one from Newark were apprehended after they were seen leaving the area of the train station on the bike.
Dmitry Tyutin, 26, of Newark, was arrested at 4 p.m. on Christmas Day after his vehicle struck a utility pole on Irvington Avenue near Seton Place. He was charged with driving under the influence.
Anthony McBryde, 49, of Newark, was arrested at 11:45 a.m. on Dec. 18. He was charged with shoplifting after police were called to Rite Aid.
- Lionel Mitchell, 23, of South Brunswick, and Michael Chambers, 22, of Newark, were arrested at 12:20 a.m. on Dec. 21 at a DWI checkpoint on South Orange Avenue. Police said they had marijuana in their vehicle.
In other police news:
Jewelry was stolen during a burglary on Dec. 22. Police responded to an alarm at a Blackhard Road residence and found someone had entered the home by throwing a rock through a first-floor window in the rear of the home. The jewelry was in the master bedroom.
A number of vehicles on Milton Place, Cameron and Hamilton roads were ransacked and some items stolen overnight on Dec. 21. Police said all of the vehicles were parked in driveways and apparently left unlocked.
A GPS unit was stolen from a vehicle in the driveway of a Seton Place resident sometime between 6 p.m. Dec. 21 and 11 a.m. Dec. 22. The vehicle was unlocked.
A South Orange Middle School student told police that someone took her iPhone from the girls locker room at around 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 19.
- An Arnold Terrace resident said that a white wooden reindeer was stolen from her front lawn early in the morning on Dec. 18.
