SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ – Local art dealer Evelyne Pinkus of E. Pinkus Fine Art, will be presenting local artist Marcel Truppa in a gallery networking event hosted by Garden State Securities and sponsored by the Scotch Plains/Fanwood Edition of The Alternative Press on Thursday, September 13  from 5 to 7 pm.

Truppa shows a unique view of the world through his collages, constructions and paintings, strained through his experiences gained over nearly a century. He has perfected the use of “found” materiel in expressing his view of people, places and things that have impacted his life.  A first generation Italian immigrant, Marcel came to this country at the age of 11 and grew up in Rahway.

Marcel’s award winning art has been exhibited at many galleries, including the Phyllis Rothman Gallery at Farleigh Dickenson University, Watching Art Center, Diversity Galley, Rabbit Gallery and  Skulski Gallery.  Truppa’s artistic career spans more than 60 years, and when asked, he will share stories of his friendship with Andy Warhol, and his interactions with other great artists of the 20th century.

“I am very pleased to be representing an artist of his caliber”, said Pinkus.  “I have represented artists on three continents, and I am the fourth generation owner of E. Pinkus Fine Art, and I have found Marcel’s work to be truly unique.”

Pinkus moved to the area three years ago for family reasons, and is now concentrating on branching out her art brokerage business to include art appraisal and artist representation.
